about

This is the 3rd album from the JPQ. We recorded this after 3 years of playing together and the cohesion shows, IMHO! Josh, Evan, D'Vonne and our speical guest Cynthia Mullis really brought their "A" games.

The record features my composition "Bashert", which I wrote for my wife, a great boogaloo from Seattle-born/NYC-based trumpet player Tatum Greentblatt, and tunes from the likes of Wayne Shorter, George Gershwin, Sam Rivers, Cole Porter and Duke Pearson. It also features our first recording of Nick Drake's "Three Hours", which was the inspiration for our follow-up album, Five Leaves Left: A Tribute To Nick Drake.
